Hi Jeannelou,
This was in the Crafts for Kids msgs that was posted last year and again this
year.
I think that the applesauce is supposed to be drained in a strainer, so it
isn't so soupy. You could drain it, then if need be add the juice as needed.
Cinnamon Ornaments
3/4 c Cinnamon, Ground
1 T Allspice, Ground
1 c Applesauce
2 T Cloves, Ground
1 T Nutmeg, Ground
Combine first 4 ingredients, blend well.
Stir in applesauce and mix well (mixture will be stiff)
Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness on un greased cookie sheet.
Cut dough into desired shapes with cookie cutters, etc.
Use a wire hook, paper clip, or poke a hole for a hanger.
Dry uncovered for 4-5 days.
Store in plastic bags until ready to use.
Yields 25 small or 18 medium ornaments.
These can be used as air fresheners, etc.
To renew scent, sand lightly with sandpaper or emery board.

I made some thin ones and found that they break very easily. I was
disappointed. Used my candy mold and made the bite size rose and those were
OK, but they were thicker. Personally, I wouldn't trust the P.O. to deliver
the cinnamon ornaments unless they were well packed in packing and a good
ox.
Actually, any delivery service.
An alternative idea:
Use several layers of a brown paper bag, glued together, paint/finish for
ook
that you want, put in a skosh of filler and the dry spices for fragrance.
he
edges would be glued together.
Have you seen how Aleene does the Look of Metal using brown paper bags and
her Tacky Glue in the GOLD bottle. My suggestion is a variation on the way
she does this.
Hope this helps
Happy crafting
