Referring to your question about TABOO III:
TABOO III is the third "homebuilt" catamaran of the Austrian skipper
Wolfgang Hausner
(WH), who also is the author of the book "TABOO III".
TABOO II got lost in the phillipines during a storm just before it was
completed. Without
loosing time WH started to build his new ship which he successfully
completed.
However, the story began 1967 when WH, being an absolute beginner at
this stage, started
a world cruising tour from  Fremantle/Australia with his first home
built cat TABOO. WH
sailed 50.000 nautical miles with his boat before it got lost due to
shipwreck. TABOO ran
onto a reef that was not identified in the charts. This happened near
Neuguinea.
The book TABOO (still available), published by Delius
Klasing/Bielfeld/Germay tells the story
of this voyage.
Accordingly the publication TABOO III is about his voyages with the new
cat.
WH is still cruising around with TABOO III. He certainly is one of those
persons in the world
having the most sound knowledge in blue water sailing and cats.
I highly appreciated both books and may recommend them to any german
reader (the books
were only published in german) who likes to gain some information about
cat sailing &
adventure.

My TABOO III book "got lost" some years ago. Since the editor Delius
Klasing does not
publish said book anymore I would be gratefull if somebody could provide
me with a second
hand copy.
