But has there been any proof so far that brain lesions can be
attributed to sport diving?^^^
The German medical team who did the research feel that there is. However, on
this side of the Atlantic there was, last year, much poo pooing of the
report. One of the reasons for this denial of the study was the fact that
the lesions discovered in divers by the Germans were not quantifiable ...
some divers with only a few dives under their lead belts had as many lesions
as those divers that had thousands of dives ... while many commercials had
none. That is a poor simplification of the arguement, but, basically people
like DAN feel that the results just don't make sense.
I believe that the reason we are seeing reports of lesions is because of the
increased use of MRI technology to study brains. As more divers are studied
we are seeing results that weren't available 10 years ago. So, are there any
divers on this board that have had a brain MRI ... and did the results show
lesons? Love to hear from everyone, privacy assured. post or email me at:
