D>I have a SupraFax28.8 v.34 external modem. My Flash Rom version is
D>I 1.200-12 and am able to flash down to 1.000-xx but when I go to
D>flash my roms to the new 1.400-12 flash roms it tells me that my modem
D>needs to be sent to the factory. Why? This is my ATI3:
D>RC 288DPi REV 05BA
D>And why must I pay $40 when others get it for free! It's not my fault
D>that my modem isn't flashable. I only bought the modem about 7 months
D>ago. I think that if it's free for some, then it's free for all.

Grab the current 12013013.EXE file off the BBS.
It should have FL_120UP.EXE inside. This will flash from
1.200-02 to 1.300-13. Once you have 1.300-13 installed, you
should be able to flash to 1.400-xx with the current flashers.
(Sometimes you can't get from point A to C without going
to point B first.)
We sold that modem as a 28.8k unit, and we didn't think
ANY of them would go faster (Except the Sonic, which using
different hardware). By a fluke, the majority of the units
sold happened to work at 33.6k due to the parts supplied from
Rockwell, but it could just have easily turned out that only
the Sonic would support speeds above 28.8k.
