Mitch,
  Download qwkmail5.zip and/or qwkml280.zip. I forget which is newer.
The newer one has some improvements over the older one but may be
oredifficult to run under Rymult.

Jim

Subj: Help Extracting QWK

Does anybody out there extract QWK packs from their own RyBBS so that
they can answer mail with an offline reader?
(Greg, nothing personal about your message editor, I would
just like to use my offline reader as I do with all the other
      echos I participate in).
If so, how do you extract the QWK, & how do you reload your REP pack?
Thanks in advance,
Mitch

Subj: Rybbs list

Does anyone have any idea how many Rybbs installations are out there?
Greg? Anyone? It seems we only have about a half a dozen sysops who
seem to post in this echo, but that doesn't mean much, I realize.
Would anyone consider putting together a Ry-specific BBS list?
I believe there are one or two on Greg's board and they are YEARS out of
date.

..
I'd say there's about 100 or so public boards...however i don't know
their names/numbers. Most people don't contact me once they get the
software package..

Subj: Rymult problem

Greg,
On one of my recent logons to your board I mentioned a few problems I
was having. Here is another, though I think it is a memeory thingie
and not a Rybug. Perhaps you or someone else cand advise me though.
I run 2 nodes. On node 1 Binkley runs as a front end, and calls up
RyMult node 1 when it detects a bbs caller. On node 2 Rymult node 2
runs stand-alone. After the setup runs for a while I start to have
problems in node 2 with the message length. It should be 180 lines as
it is in node 1 and that is what startup.bbs, .1, and .2 are set for.
After a few callers the message length shortens to much less, like 5
to 20 lines (it varies). If you read, reply to, or write messages
online on node 2 this is what you are reduced to. I'm not sure if qwk
is affected. The only cure is a complete re-boot. This problem has
been recurring for several versions so I'm sure it's not a Rymult
problem . Any ideas how I can stop this? Does anyone else have this
  happen?

Subj: Rypacker 2.7b

JH> In one of the other nets I'm in, the Paul Revere Net which uses zones
JH> 176,177, and 178, I am getting some heat from others. They are saying
JH> that Rypacker is putting an extra CR LF after the origin line that is
JH> playing havoc with their systems. I believe the people complaining
JH> are using Wildmail. Is Rypacker at fault?

Probably, that's one of the reasons I stopped exporting RYPACKER's OUT
files directly some time ago. I use Squish for all my mail handling, but
whatever you use you should at least rename the OUT files to PKT and
feed them to Squish (or whatever) in unsecure mode. I actually
re-address them as coming from a fakenet address. This fixes any of
those squeals. BTW, rypacker doesn't do a lot of things it should do.

JH> On a related note, since Greg released the code last December,
JH> have any of you clever programmer types tried (or considered trying)
JH> to fix Rypacker for dolts like me? :-)

I haven't had the time. :(
