  Christmas  is celebrated  in old style calendar ("julian", the
official Russian Orthodox Chirch  calendar), but the New Year is
celebrated in new style calendar ("grigorian"). The New  Year in
old style, called "Old New Year", is celebrated (by some people)
at Jan 13.
