No way, the Great Lakes, except for a few areas, are extremely clear and
clean. Even Lake Erie, for which the dead lake jokes abounded, is getting
better. Turns out Zebra Muscels hav one good use. The dang things filter
polution out of the water. Too small to eat, not that you would want to.
he
main problem with them is they clog water intakes, and generally foul any
object that sits still too long.
We have a huge water intake five miles out in Lake Huron that supplies most
f
the Metro Detroit area with water. And the lowest water bill in the nation.
Filterr and clorinate is all the water department does.
For fish propuses we age water a week, and balance ph before adding it to the
tank. this prevents the ph bounce you get with water changes. A little
stress coat finishes the process. We have some old fish.
