RW> I saw it for the first time in a Drive-in, c1977. It was like going back RW> in time for me. By then, those days were over for me. I was already married to wife #2. RW> I've been in a few like that. I try not to think about it, but one of the main roads over here is like the Indianapolis Speedway. It's unbelieveable the way some people drive in heavy traffic. RW> And that is the message that everyone who saw the movie got. I sure hope so. On a humorous note, I had the receiver auto-tune to PBA Bowling this morning at 11:00 CDT and found myself watching drag racing. Sometimes, life isn't fair, but this time it was a wash. (-: RW> Today you can put power disc brakes on them and stop sooner. :o) The gendarmes were effective with stopping me, but seriously, I wish power disc brakes had been standard equipment on that car. I recall learning how to drive in a 1937 Hudson Terraplane that ny brother and BIL bought. That thing had mechanical brakes and was a bear to stop! RW> If it was an SLP car, it had everything a high performance car would RW> need. I thought it might. RW> That wasn't just a Firebird, it was a FireHawk...the counterpart to the RW> SS Z28. Even my IROC has posi...can't get out of it's own way anymore, RW> but it's still got posi. I have to be careful driving the Lincoln. My daughter has been using it to go to work and I use her Suburban. That thing is a tank with lots of power, DRINKS gas, but has the suspension of a car, so it gives a smooth ride. If I go somewhere in the Loncoln, I need to be light-footed, else that thing will throw me in the back seat, figuratively speaking. Regards, Roger ...
