Montoya leaves F1 for NASCAR in 2007

In an unprecedented move, Juan Pablo Montoya is leaving Formula One for
NASCAR in 2007. In a press conference this morning, Montoya announced he
would be rejoining his former team owner, Chip Ganassi, behind the wheel of
the Havoline Dodge for next season. Montoya won a CART championship and
Indianapolis 500 in successive years (1999 and 2000) before heading to
Formula One in 2001.

Montoya to return to American racing in 2007

For quite some time there have been questions about the future of Juan Pablo
Montoya in Formula One and the answer came on July 9th. The Colombian will
leave the F1 circus after this season and return to American racing in 2007,
this time in the NASCAR cup series.

Montoya moves into Ganassi 42 Dodge in 2007

Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates Racing announced Sunday at Chicagoland
Speedway that Team McLaren Mercedes Formula One driver Juan Pablo Montoya
will pilot the No. 42 Dodge starting in 2007. A native of Colombia, Montoya
has seven wins and 13 poles in Formula One, and will become the first driver
to make the switch from F1 to NASCAR.
