AM>Marge has been helpful to me in the past.
My sysop swears that netmail is going out. But none of it has
reached the ECHOLIST system, and none has reached other people
to whom I've netmailed. I've pointed this out to him, and all I
get back is "It looks fine on this end." I'm at my wit's end.
I've sent in the updates time and time again. And I get no
responses from netmail that I've sent to other individuals.
I've netmailed the ECHOLIST update many times. I've netmailed
Marge. I've netmailed others in this conference. All I get back
is messages from my sysop saying "It all looks ok on this end."
I don't trust the NC and NEC. If my sysop can't get them to
figure out what's wrong, then there's nothing I can do. I'm
just plain without netmail.
Unless he's incompetent, the problem is upstream of his system,
and if so, then some hub or NEC or NC is filtering out my netmail,
or dropping the ball entirely. The NEC sometimes goes down for
days on end, and I believe they are routing netmail along with
echomail to reduce costs. I am not going to call long distance
to moderate the echo. I've posted messages saying so in this
echo many times.
I've called for people to come forth and volunteer to be this
echo's moderator, but I haven't seen any responses.
You're right; without netmail I can't be an effective moderator.
That's why I've called for others to volunteer for the job. If
you haven't seen those messages, then either my sysop, or the NEC
has been dropping the ball, and that's ANOTHER reason why we need
to get the moderatorship for this conference OUT of net 231.
We need someone who supports this echo to send in the update and
become moderator before there's a hostile takeover.
