Hello All!
I have a piece of equipment marked as "GATEWAY IG-4" in apx 18"x7"x10"
case with a label on the back reading:
COMPUCORP (r)
SERIES MODEL IG-4
SERIAL NO. G-00###
100/120 VAC 2.0 AMP 50/60 HZ
220/240 VAC 1.0 AMP 50/60 HZ
LOS ANGELES CA
MADE IN USA BUSINESS EQUIP
The unit has places for 4 modules installed from the rear. The modules are
apx 10" long and 1.5" wide, with thumbscrews on each end to secure. Two mods
are installed, one labeled "RS-232 NIP" with two DB-25F conns seperated by a
green LED labeled "A READY". Next there is the "B READY" LED, a hole for
switching of two DIPS (one marked "A SET" and one "B SET". This is followed
by a column of 6 red LEDs marked "ST 1" through "ST 6". These modules are
mounted in a horizontal position, but are labeled and read vertically from
the top down.
The bottom module is labeled "OMEGANET NIP", and has labels (reading from top
down) "READY" (green LED), three 8-pos DIPS (top two "NET ADDRESS", bottom
"NODE ADDRESS"), one BNC conn "OMEGANET", four red LEDs labeled "ST 1" - "ST
4", and at the very end - a 7 digit # "0184424".
In examining the RS-232 NIP module, I see the following paper label on U22:
0426445
V .2A VIII
RS 232 PAD
The PCB is screened: "NIP RS232 0190298-BX" Stamped to: "0190306-DX"
The "OMEGANET NIP" module has the following sticker on U8:
0426023-G
V.1.01
And the PCB is screened as: "NETWORK INTERFACE PROCESSOR"
"0184416-DX"
The power connector is a std IEC 3-prong, there is a std case fan in the
back, and I don't see a power switch. Does anyone have any info on this
unit, and how I might be able to put it to use ? Perhaps integrate it into
the LAN plan :) mentioned in my previous message ?? Any way to find
additional modules ???
What exactly might it's use have been when it was in operation ?!
Sincerely,
Bruce - kb6lwn - ck1@pacbell.net
