Schumacher retained at GPDA (24-Jul-98) - Michael Schumacher remains a spokesman for the Grand Prix Drivers Association. His position was under pressure after the incident between him and fellow countryman Heinz-Harald Frentzen at the Canadian Grand Prix. Schumacher forced Frentzen to go off track and spin out of the race when the Ferrari driver drove out of the pits and went for the ideal line. After the race, Frentzen called for Schumacher to step down as a spokesperson for the GPDA. But during last Thursday's meeting, Frentzen said to have reconsidered his calling. But there were still some changes; Alexander Wurz replaced Damon Hill as the other spokesperson while David Coulthard became the third spokesman for the GPDA. --- Msged/386 4.20 beta 4* Origin: Blizzard of Ozz, Melbourne, Australia (3:635/728.4{at}fidonet) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 633/267 |
