Nothing is easy... I've only done 1 of the COCO 3's here for 2 reasons.
I wasen't sure of the software upgrade and it's cost. and cutting out
the old chip buy the new one (ain't all that cheap) soldering in the new
40 pin socket and putting in the chip. Then too it's realy only usable
with the software. Else you won't notice any difference. Doing it on a
COCO 2 is usless. There is no software upgrade to use it!

KL> Hmmm, I'm not familiar with a KAM. Just what is this?

The KAM is a modem that connects between yer radio and yer computer.
The computer has to be running a terminal program. the KAM then takes
the sound output from the radio and can be used to decypher packet, rtty
fax and other types of transmitions. They sell for 300 some bucks. There
are others out there. The Kam is only one of many made by Kantronics.
There are also many other makers of radio modems.

There are others now. the old are gone... Most of the newer ones are in
news letter form. You can find a listing on the COCO & OS9 echoes.

Those can be done with the KAM and the COCO. The fax can be done from
the COCO it's self with a shortwave radio and some software from the
Rainbow mag. I'd have to check on the issue...

KK> RIBBS) You may want to check into them. I carry all 3 here.

Just have yer sysop check the echo list for the OS9 & COCO echos. and
ask him to pick them up. They are just like any other echo... He should
know what to to do.
