Sure sounds like a "gotcha"! I have one account
that I passworded as of the end of fiscal 1992-93 - and
forgot the password. I've tried every logical
permutation of logical (and not so logical) passwords
in vain. I tried the export/import deal with less than
satisfactory results. I finally settled for archive
each past year and letting the new balance be that
silly correction factor for the archived parts. Looks
stupid, but it works.

Hmmm, doesn't THAT sound familiar! :-( Billy's got
the world so brain-washed with Windoze nobody can see
anything else. Oh, I do understand Windoze's appeal to
the computer illiterate. They have a black (well, gray)
box that they expect to do things and they will not
learn to use it "properly". Point and click is as
complex as they are interested in. You have to admit
that commands like CD, DIR, REN and, worse, their
associated syntax aren't exactly intuitive. They may
seem like second nature to the "informed", but the
average user these, unlike those from 10-15 years ago,
is not informed - and doesn't want to be. I've heard,
"I can't even program my VCR; you expect me to learn to
run a computer?!" But we can all point and shoot: we
learned to do that with water pistols by age 5!
