DL>BM> I grew up there (Torrance and Manhattan Beach) and visited the
DL>BM> Park frequently for thirty years. I still remember my first visit
DL>BM> (it's actually my earliest memory). The year was 1958 and my
DL>BM> brother and I tried to hold our breaths while we drove east on
DL>BM> Artesia Blvd. through the aptly named city of Dairy Valley.
DL>BM> Yoo Hoo, any of you Southern Cal. EchoEars wanna guess what the
DL>BM> city of Dairy Valley calls itself today?"
DL> Is Dairy Valley now San Fernando?
Nope, not even close. Read the first paragraph again--there are some
pretty broad hints there.
DL> I grew up in Lompoc, California.
Nice place.
DL> Thanks for all the tips. It's nice that DL has some very different
DL> things than WDW isn't it?
I guess so. Makes it hard for those of us who don't live on both coasts
at the same time, though.
DL> Also, I was so tired when I posted that what I meant about Fantasmic
DL> was is it worth it to pay $35 or so to view it from the Disney
DL> Gallery balcony with a dessert buffet.
D'ooh, much better question! I shoulda knowed you meant that.
Unless you spend a lot of time holding down a good seat, viewing
Fantasmic can be problematic. Even though I've seen the show twice (both
from the wheelchair viewing area), I would probably opt for the reserved
seating ... once.
