Frentzen refuses to talk about future

(25-Jul-98) - Heinz-Harald Frentzen refused to talk on Friday about his
future in the sport, amid speculation that Williams may keep him on next
year following the announcement of Jacques Villeneuve's departure to BAR.

The German, who has won just one race since arriving at Williams last year,
said he just wanted to concentrate on driving this season rather than worry
about the future.

"I do not want to talk about my future," he said. "I am not
sure whether I will be in Formula One or IndyCars next season. That is all
I will say."

Frentzen did, however, claim that Williams' problems this year owe much to
the departure of talented designer Adrian Newey to McLaren.

"Last year we had mechanical failures, but we were still fighting for
a championship which only one guy could win. The car is getting better and
the whole package is improving."

"The main problem was Newey leaving because we've got a lot of
problems with the aerodynamics. After losing Renault we've also had to pay
for the Mecachrome engines. This money is missing and it could have paid
for something else."
