Mulling over George Pope to Steve Asher 17 Dec 2002 Hi George! SA> I had a brazen rep from AAPT (mobile phone co) come to the door a few SA> days ago offering a free mobile phone. I asked him what the catch was, SA> & he just laughed & repeated the offer of a free phone. I told him I SA> wasn't interested. GP> Why not? You get him to put something IN WRITING, that it's GP> ABSOLUTELY FREE, with no obligations or expectations of cost GP> reimbursement on your part, and take it, then sell it to anyone GP> else cheap! I'll try that with the next one. I have a feeling that mobile phone operators are becoming desperate to find a revenue stream that will allow them get a decent return on their investment in "3G" technology. After that flurry of activity to install the ducts & equipment hut for the new transmitters on this building, it all came to a halt 3 months ago, & I won't be surprised if it never gets completed. Pity! :) Cheers, Steve.. ---* Origin: < Adelaide, South Oz. (08) 8351-7637 (3:800/432) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 800/7 1 640/954 774/605 123/500 106/1 379/1 633/267 |
