DB> * Stanton Friedman's new book is panned: The June 29 edition
DB> of the _Albuquerque Journal_, which carried reviews of 10 recent
DB> UFO books, offered the following commentary on "Top Secret/MAJIC":
DB> "If you want to read a book _about_ Stanton Friedman, nuclear
DB> physicist (as the UFO researcher likes to call himself), this book
DB> is for you. If you want to read a book that sheds light on the UFO
DB> phenomenon, pass. While the UFO community has largely abandoned
DB> a bundle of allegedly top secret documents about the government's
DB> MJ-12 UFO coverup as a feeble hoax, Friedman remains unrepentant.
DB> His tales about himself and his heroism to get at the truth clog up
DB> his narrative, especially with the `truth' is the pathetic MJ-12."
What a load! Friedman likes to call himself a nuclear physicist....and
there is a valid reason...he has a masters in physics (uni of Chicago) and
has worked on nuclear propulsion such as the General Electric Aircraft
Nuclear Propulsion (ANP) Department in Evendale, Aerojet General Nucleonics
(San Francisco) and other legitimate scientific programs.
Largely abondoned? I have not heard of any valid reasoning to support
this action. Klauss made some attempt to discredit documents such as the
Truman doc establishing Majestic-12 on the presidents signature claiming it
was too good. But the arguement is pretty poor. He also lost a $1000 in a
bet with Friedman over document fonts, which he claimed were not used in the
white house.
The reason I see the 'Albuquerque Journal' discrediting the book, is
that it is a difficult read. The is a enormous amount of indirect evidence
that is present and without notes, you can quickly forget these. Remember,
some documents regarding Majestic-12 were obtain from national archives, not
the infamous microfilms in the mailbox (the Majestic-12 manual) which
Friedman has stated he has not made up his mind on.
