The first question is, what kind of a block are you using? If you use a
column block, you will only search within the columns that you mark, and
if the regular expression occurs outside of the block, it won't be found.
I tried manually using:
{^<<}|{[0-9][,][0-9][0-9]$}
With the following examples (obviously aligned at the left side of the
file):
<< this is a matching line
this is another matching line 9,99
And doing specifying "X" as the parameter, and it worked just fine.
Then I tried it in a line block, and specified "XL" as the options for
the search, and it worked fine.
