Hi!
MI> It'll sound like crap, trust me. The drivers are designed for
MI> different purposes, different environments, and different types of
MI> enclosures. In a house, speakers are in a relatively clean,
MI> atmosphere-controlled, solid environment. In the car, there's all
MI> manner of road dust filtering in (worse in some areas in the summer),
MI> the temperature can vary widely (where I grew up, it could be anywhere
MI> from -40C in the dead of winter, to well over 40C in the car in the
MI> summer when it's parked with the windows up), and they're being
MI> bounced, shaken and beaten constantly when the car is in motion.
MI> Also, home speaker drivers are typically designed with a nominal
MI> eight-ohm impedance, while car speakers generally sport a nominal
MI> four-ohm impedance, which doubles the amount of power they can draw
MI> from an amp. You'll lose a lot of level with home speakers in the
MI> car,
Ahh, okay, I've kinda turned off that track now, finding you can get a
pair of 300w speakers for around $90 new, you reckon that's a good
price?? where's the best place to buy that kinda stuff around melb
area you reckon??? Just I love music, rap music, need good bassy
speakers for my car.
You sound like you know what you're on about, what type of setup/price
would you suggest?? where should I buy from?
Thanks for your help!
