Hi Jeannelou,
JT> Nice to hear from you. I would be glad to be put in contact with
JT> your daughter. My phone number is
JT> WinnDixie [a supermarket] as their relief cake decorator. So, we
JT> already something in common. I'm supposed to start the week after
JT> Thanksgiving.
We talked to Rachel on Sunday; you may have to try several times to
reach her (I think she'd feel better about you calling her; she's a bit
unsure of contacting someone she doesn't know except as "a computer
friend of mom's.") as her part time job is going to keep her quite busy
from now till Christmas. She's a cashier at Toys R Us. Her phone # is
436-4853.
I have shopped at WinnDixie before but they don't have any out here. I
guess their cake decorating department is like Safeway; I've seen some
cute ones there. Rachel said that she couldn't find a Michael's craft
store but has seen an Old American. She got her Wilton classes, parts I
& II at our Michael's and wants to get part III somewhere.
JT> Do you know the recipe for those cinnamon ornaments? I think i
JT> am going to put them on my Christmas cards.
As I recall, don't you just mix cinnamon and applesauce or is there more
to it? I love the smell of cinnamon; it's one of my favorite spices. I
used to make the spice ropes (braided twine with little bags of whole
spices and a bit of fiberfill tied on) and would usually use cinnamon
stick and cloves, plus whatever else I could find in whole spices at a
reasonable price that went well with those two. Gee, I don't think I've
made any in years!
I've been sewing a couple of Christmassy vests I cut out last winter;
one is basically red with holly leaves and a bit of gold thread lined in
red. The other is a dark blue angel print I found at Hancock's; it had
just enough of a royal blue accenting that I'm doing the lining in
royal. Trying to get all of my back cut outs done before I cut out any
more projects (yeah, right) so I've got one more vest to make, 2 short
sleeve tee shirts and 3 sweatshirts. If all goes well, this stack will
be finished before Christmas.
Hope you have a good Thanksgiving; we're getting together with friends &
my sister, her husband and 2 boys. I haven't seen their baby since
early July so I'm looking forward to it.
Catch you later,
Ruth
