I ran MEMTEST86+ for 4 hours today, 2 passes were completed and I
stopped it during the third pass.

My memory (RAM) didn't have any errors.

The reason I downloaded the MEMTEST-86 the other day was because I had
an older version I downloaded in 2007 so I thought to get an updated
copy before I run it on this vintage 2006 box.

Thanks for telling me about the + program the other fellow wrote, I
wouldn't had know about it since I never heard of anything other than
MEMTEST-86.  I have always liked good utility software, even back in the
1980's when I used the C=64 and a friend downloaded a program called
UTLWDG from Compuserve.

I have seen the MEMTEST option when I live booted Ubuntu 7.04 but never
ran it, I only wanted to run it last/this month because of my paranoia
problem of wondering if my computer is being ran by outside forces.

McAfee scans have only reported PUPs about some of the software I
installed from reputable sources recommended by people I think are
knowageable about this stuff.

McAfee still finds hp's KILLWIND.EXE and the next time it lets me tell
it that I believe it should be trusted I will click that button so it
won't bother me about that anymore.

Thanks for the help, at least I found out the RAM isn't the problem.
