RW>RN> I've had one of those in the trunk of my car for two years now, along RW>RN> with a certificate from a firearms instructor (a requirement). RW> I've got the app, but never filled it out. We need that cert from the RW> instructor as well. I haven't had the time to do that. Here, it costs anywhere between $50-100 for a licensed instructor. I probably know as much about handguns as they do, but that doesn't count, unless I want to become a state-certified licensed instructor. RW> Yeah, those are the ones who shoot themselves in the foot, or shoot the RW> instructor with an unloaded gun. And with a chambered round in a Glock, that is VERY easy to do. (-: Not possible in a Colt .45 auto, however, unless the hammer is cocked. By the way, the nurse, all 5' of her, who outshot me was using a Walther PPK. I don't know (or care) where she got it, but she took her sweet time firing it. I'd like to say I had a better pattern than she did (for what I was trying to do), but I don't remember. RW> One of those faster than I am deals. See above. RW> Brandishing that firearm is also a no no...does it say that too? As I recall, it does. If you do that, you'd better have a darn good reason that makes sense to the LEO you're explaining it to or else you can be charged with reckless endangerment and have your license revoked. And if approached by a police officer, you have to state that you're "carrying" and produce your license -- very carefully. Also, I am not allowed to take one on a plane with me. I tried to do that back in 2005 without a license, but those mean ol' TSA guys, whom I had that wonderful rapport with, frowned on that. I finally got rescued by the head gal at the Southwest desk who let me leave it with her and I called a friend of mine from here to go pick it up at the N.O. airport. Regards, Roger ... Problems? No, I LIKE my foot there. --- D'Bridge 2.99* Origin: NCS BBS (1:3828/7) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/201 34/999 106/1 120/228 123/500 140/1 222/2 226/0 249/303 SEEN-BY: 250/306 261/20 38 100 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 396/45 SEEN-BY: 633/260 267 712/848 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 105 2905/0 @PATH: 3828/7 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
