Honda on hold?

(29-Jul-98) - Honda appear unlikely to enter Formula 1 until 2000 despite
Hiroyuki Yoshino having announced the company's plans to return to the
sport to its top management.

The president of the Japanese motor giant is said by sources to have
confirmed internally Honda's return to Formula 1, however, it seems that
plans to field a team next year are becoming increasingly unlikely.

F1 insiders say that the company would be foolish to attempt to rush out a
car and an engine and sources close to Honda suggest that the company is
very close to putting plans on ice until 2000, if it has not done so
already.
