subject: Network help!

Hi All!
I'm totally new to networking. But i've just been donated a couple of network
cards, so I want to make some use of them!
I have two PCs.
1) Cyrix P120+ Win95 machine
2) P75 Win95 Machine
The network cards are PCI, and the chipset indicates it's a "AMD PCnet"
network
card. I've been trawling the net, and these seem to be the specs:
Topology: Ethernet
Bus Type: PCI
Connector Type: 10 Base T
Transmission Line Speed: 10 Mbps
Promiscuous Mode: Supported
Multicast Mode: Supported
Error Capturing: Supported
The connector appears to look like a telephone socket.
What I want to know is, do I just need a single cable to plug between the
network cards, and then leave Win95 to do the networking?
I've been told that something needs to go in between the cables, will I need
this, whatever it is? Or will a single cable do?
*Any* advice will be very welcome, i'm a beginner to networking, never had
he
opportunity to try it before, but I thought it's time I linked up my two
computers. Getting fed up with my 1.2kps 14400 modem connection i'm using at
the moment!
Thanks in advance,
