Hello Peter. Thanks for all of your various comments regarding the Boy
Scouts of America and the Explorers issue. It seems that you, Janis and I
all see pretty much eye to eye on this issue; that is, we all find it
totally unacceptable that they would be training mere 13 and 14 year olds to
be doing these kinds of things. In spite of Mike's explanations, I still
find it outrageous what they are doing with those children. My gosh, let
them be kids. Childhood only comes around one time, and then it is gone
forever. They are trying to make these children grow up too fast, and are
burdening them with things for which they are not mentally, emotionally,
physically or spiritually prepared for.

As you noted, one of the big problems is that the US Government and the US
military have long believed in might is right, and have too often opted for
brute force instead of relying more upon patient diplomacy. As I have
mentioned before, it is this bullying approach which has caused the USA to
be hated and despised by so many other nations.

Training these children to be little "Rambos", as you said, is really
despicable. It is all a part of the American war mentality. I am reminded of
a verse I have shared before, written by King David in the Old Testament. It
says:

"I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war."
Psalms 120:7, KJV

Again, as Jesus said "Blessed are the peacemakers" . . . and NOT the
warmongers!
