"I'm on the fence. Three or four years ago when Michael Waltrip won the
Daytona 500 I was second. I'm like, 'this is cool, I'm going to finish
second.' Then I realized, 'Wait a minute, there's time. I could finish
second.' You can't please everybody. We got a nice top 10 out of it, but we
were working and gaining momentum. We've been all over the track today but on
the last two stops we picked up spots. We were trying to hit on it just
right. We had ideas but we didn't really know which way to go. It was
overcast and cooler today and I think people were racing side by side better."

"The car was pretty good. I think we were headed for a pretty good finish,
but we kinda knew it was just a matter of time until the weather got here.

"We're getting more and more consistent and that just comes with experience.
I felt pretty good today. When I do races on Saturday at another track, it
hasn't been too hard on me. It hasn't been too bad. We'll try to build on
this fifth-place finish and keep the momentum going."

"It felt great coming up through the field today. The guys did a great job in
the pits, and Donnie (crew chief Wingo) made some great calls. It's great to
get another top 10 finish, and that's just what we needed to get back in the
