I disagree. My fish have always been healthier with a low level of salinity.
Mollies, which I don't keep anymore, like a level almost half that of
salt-water. The thing to remember is that in the wild there is no such thing
as salt-free water. Even the freshest mountain spring water has some mineral
content in it, which tap water does not have.
