 In an episode to be shown later for you (but has already aired twice, and
at least once in the syndicated repeats here in the states,) Odo buys a
'dying Changling' "baby" from Quark. He requests help from the Bajoran
scientist whom he initially had contact, in an attempt to communicate with
the changling.  Slowly, the baby grows into better health, and the task
of communicating begins. at the very end, the now dying (all attempts failed
at restoring it to full health) changling baby Merged itself with Odo.  All
of his shape-shifting abilities are restored.
