HM> "Bill the Tyrant"??? What kind of dumb nonsense is this? You don't

Same argument from previous message applies here. If the other OS's on the
market had a reliable supply of software, more people would turn to them.
HM> half-decent product for a half-decent price and call Bill a Tyrant.
Half-Decent product... Maybe. Half-Decent price... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...
HM> If it wasn't for Bill, you'd be buying your stuff from IBM.... and do
HM> you remember what life was like when they practically owned the PC
HM> market??? Makes Bill look like a choir boy!
From one rip-off merchant to another really. It's all about money.
HM> Remember the arrogance of Lotus and WordPerfect, when they were
HM> absolute rulers in their fields (spreadsheets and worprocessors)???
HM> Remember the prices, the copy protection schemes, the limited
HM> upgradability nonsense, etc? Who brought them to their knees? Bill!
HM> And how? By delivering a =better= product for less money, speak: the
HM> Office suite, which became the corporate standard.
I agree with you here.
HM> Strange, the mental midgets at the DOJ didn't say a word when
HM> =Netscape= had a virtual exclusive / monopoly on browsers. Now that
HM> Microsoft has a 40% marketshare in the browser business, all hell
HM> brakes lose! And how much did Microsoft charge for their excellent
HM> browser? Nothing!!! Is that a crime?
NetScape never had a "Monoply" over the browser market. The amount of users
of Netscape software were by choice, not by force. Now Microsoft not only
wants for have their browser packaged with their OS (i've got nothing against
this), but it totally take's over the Desktop/GUI (looks ugly too) and then
claim "Oh, but we don't know HOW to uninstall it once it's installed".
HM> Tell me something, what happened to the price of RAM the last time
HM> your ignorant DOJ got involved in the free market? And who paid the
HM> price for their stupidity?
RAM prices resulted from a world shortage after PC sales began to really
oom
and followed that trend for several years. Now that the RAM supply/demand
scale is more even, the prices are down. Besides, RAM has to cheap to feed
that MB guzzler that is Win95. I have a 32MB system that has a wopping 16MB
free under Win95! If only I knew what Win95 did with the other 16... It
hould
only need about 4MB for it's own drivers/GUI/cache/bla.
