The crazy part is that a law which gave surgeons first pick of the organs would actually make it easier for everyone. Such a law already exists for compulsory autopsies. The next of kin has no say, and is merely infomred that there will be an outopsy... sorry. And all the organs end up in bottles, tested, and then dumped on the tip. No one would have to approach the next of kin at the aboslute *worst* time (ten minutes after brain death). Politicans are gutless.
