Big stuff, one is supposed to call and at least alert them for a special
pickup, but often it still just gets left on the curb, expecting that
someone will grab it.  There IS a spring bulky pickup scheduled, but not
everyone is ready to take advantage of it.  :)  That's also useful for
when one has way too much small stuff to fit in the regular bins... but
again, people still put stuff out like that year-round...  :)

They should advertise the week before, so the scavengers can clear
things out beforehand...?  Refuse would probably have to have a flotilla
of trucks there, otherwise...  :)
