I did a simular thing but not in Max since I couldn't figure out how to do it
in Mex. What I did is use the OpenDoors package to write the windows for
each of the menus and load the programs in the appropriate Maximus CTL file
(e.g. menus.ctl). The menus use the arrow keys to highlight choices and then
hit enter to start the option. You can have popup windows, whatever you
want, using this method. The really cool thing about this is you can hide
the cursor in the highlighted option so that there appears to be no cursor
and the whole thing looks really professional (i.e. like a canned program).
Two of the drawbacks are that it slows things down a tad but the professional
look is worth it, and you have to be able to program in C.
