| subject: | Backspace problems on Linux when connecting to BBS |
Hi everyone, This is a minor issue, but I've noticed when I telnet to BBSes on either Linux or Mac OSX (both using Bash shell), my backspace does not work all the time or it works differently depending on where I'm at. Example, when typing a message, [backspace] deletes the character to the right of the curser instead of left. The BBS I'm using (X-Bix) uses IceEdit for full screen editing, which I like, but this is kinda funky. When in Tradewars 2002, [backspace] nor [delete] keys do anything, so there is no way to backspace. In regular BBS functions however it works fine. Any ideas? I'm using standard Telnet via command-line, and though I bounce between Mac OSX and Linux (SuSE 9.1 Pro), both are using the Bash shell and both have the same problem. Thanks for any ideas on this.
