Crunch time for Mosley as ASH give evidence

(15-Jul-98) - Anti-smoking group ASH has handed Formula One's governing
body evidence that it believes proves that tobacco advertising causes
people to take up smoking.

In March FIA president Max Mosley said that he would unilaterally ban
tobacco advertising in F1 if he was provided with such evidence. Now ASH is
hoping to force Mosely to take action following his statement.

Mosley said in May that he is considering the best way to evaluate the
evidence he has been given.

ASH has drawn its evidence from 60 tobacco industry confidential documents
released in litigation in the US.
