Mulling over George Pope to Steve Asher 06 Jan 2003 Hi George! SA> Tiffany Olson, deputy chief of staff at the CIPB, told the New York SA> Times: "We don't have anybody that is able to look at the entire picture. SA> When something is happening, we don't know until it's too late." SA> But critics fear that the plan would give the government the SA> potential SA> for real-time monitoring of individuals. GP> It's old news! :P GP> They've been real-time monitoring for AGES online! :P Yes, but they don't necessarily know for sure who they are monitoring. If I type in "_icin" or "_astor _il _ree", it will probably trigger _CHELON or _arnivore or something before it gets to you, but the spooks reading the message won't know for sure if I wrote it, or if it was a case of false identity or identity theft. Only when an electronic identity is "bound" to a physical identity will our masters be happy in their ability to monitor our every move online. You will know when your ISP has provided the Government with a list of users & their email addresses when the spam starts arriving from various Govt departments, pollies & the like :) Cheers, Steve.. ---* Origin: < Adelaide, South Oz.
