BL> That's the theory, anyway... but not in Australia. The BL> "baby-boom" proposes a large increase in the birthrate BL> following WWII from 1945 ... RLA> I was begining to suspect this "baby boomer" mentality when I RLA> realised some dates clearly classified me as one The concept of a baby-boom has gone into folklore. A WWII baby "boom" could have occurred no later than Jan 1947 and the youngest "boomer" would be now 50, but every year they drop it year to include 40 year-olds because it suits the folklore and no one likes silly old farts and wrinkles anyway. There is no baby-boom demographic "bump" in Australia. In my old (1965) Year Book you can see the 1914-18 bump and hollow (especially males), but whatever ocurred in WWII has been swamped by immigration.
