Nearly every install I've done has done a conversion from FAT to NTFS and
they've all been from floppy and local CD. While it's been a little while
since my last install, I don't think my memory is THAT bad (could be - my
short-term memory seems to be fading with the rest of me). Once the system
s
installed, the conversion runs on reboot. Simply put, I've never seen it do
anything BUT convert.
Maybe I haven't hit the right scenario. All the systems have been dual boot
and that may be an additional consideration...
