VF> Dear Hank,
VF> I'm glad to hear she is doing well. What kind of company
VF> does she have? It's none of my business really, just
VF> curious. I have a desk top publishing business, but
VF> haven't had time to do much with it in quite awhile now. I
VF> guess one nice thing about being self-employed is that you
VF> don't have to answer to your boss!
Jan has a wedding consulting and concierge business and I work with her in my
spare time (such as it is, ha ha). Actually, she enjoys working with people
and is doing quite well for herself.
HB> The Texas judicial system is such a crock! I'm teaching my children
HB> about the way the Texas system really is; not the way we were led to
HB> believe in school...Unfortunate, but true...
VF>
VF> I know many people that are doing the same thing.
VF> Unfortunately if you teach your children not to trust the
VF> Child Welfare Agencies and they find out about it, they
VF> really hammer on you for it. They don't like parents
VF> teaching their children not to trust the "Child Savers". It
VF> really goes against the grain with them.
Yes, you are correct, but fortunately, in our case, the CPS worker testified
that Jan was *not* a threat to our own children (imagine that!) and we were
allowed to keep them. We do not have any dealing with CPS now and are not
having any kind of trouble with them.
VF> Thanks! A little word of caution though, if you write a
VF> letter to the President of the United States to complain
VF> about your issues, that letter can be passed down to the
VF> agency you're having trouble with and they can use it
VF> against you in a court of law. Isn't that a comforting
VF> thought?
I don't doubt this in the least! If you only knew the particulars in our
case, you would see that ours was a " small-town politics and old money
me."
VF> Yeah, it's kind of hard to be classified as low-life scum
VF> when you've had so much going for you on the outside. I
VF> worked with a couple of male inmates that were like that and
VF> they had a really difficult time, not only with the guards,
VF> but the parole board and the other inmates.
BTW, so far, Jan and I get along quite well with the parole officer assigned
to her. He sees her a lot at church doing the same thing that she has been
doing for years...conducting the *children's* choir and working in children's
Sunday School and Vacation Bible School...Now, since we are so active in our
church, when she was sent to prison, EVERYBODY in our church knew...do you
think that she could be working in those departments if any one of those
parents even suspected that she was a threat? Hah on CPS!
HB> Val, good luck, and in any case, please keep the faith and keep us
HB> informed...Our prayers are with you and your family...
This still stands!
Hello to Don!
Sincerely,
Hank Ball
