You're assuming I laurels. It's too cold up here to grow them; in
20 years, maybe. :) I like to travel and I like to read ... both take some
time to do properly.

Not exactly. I mean, taxing of expenditures to replace what an
income tax provides today. Those "with" money, "spend" money ... thus, they
pay more; those with "less" money, spend "less" ... thus, they pay less. If
there are no loopholes for anyone to avoid paying when you buy, would it not
be a workable system? There would have to be something similar for those
who spend outside the country, as well, and some method of excluding the non
citizen ... but, as a general idea? I know the idea is not unique.
