I'll bet it's still short, though. (Many countries have regulations that
restrict the length of power cords on kitchen appliances, especially those
used for boiling liquids. Long cords hanging down proved too inviting to
young children, who pulled the appliance down and received 3rd degree burns
from the boiling water. Similar regulations require appliances for boiling
water to have lids that can't fall off and allow water to spray everywhere
when dropped, or break open with the same result.)
