There are probably mediums in your area who do this sort of thing
regularly. Why would you think someone with no training would do
better than them ?

Who said you could ? Just because someone is dead it doesn't follow
they can be contacted. This is in fact one way to sort out who is a
genuine medium. If they say they can contact *anyone* who is dead then
you can be pretty sure they aren't genuine.

Any dead person could pretend to be your friend. Some would even be
able to give you information about him when he was physical.

And if things go wrong what do you do ? Ever had experience of someone
being obsessed/possessed ? Ever been instructed as to what to do if
you end up with a house full of unwelcome spirits ?
