What is the point of investing time and energy in documenting standards when
people can just ignore them and get away with "it is just a hobby"?

Isn't it frustrating when the upper echelon - instead of leading by example in
following the standards - knowingly and willfully violates them? And then
questions the sanity of anyone saying something about it?
