You could do what I do and use shotgun loads in a pistol.  Kind of hard on
the barrel groving, so you don't want to fire too many of those rounds.

I have done that with a licensed firearms instructor, although I didn't
really need any instruction.  I still have my certificate in the trunk of
my car, but first, I'll have to familiarize myself with the laws I'll need
to know.  They are in the documentation furnished by the LSP when you want
to get a license to carry.

Apparently, they are only interested in shooting a weapon with reckless
