Seems to be a science, each CPU has it's own way of being identified.
It wasn't until, what?, the 486 and the cpuid became possible. Then
again it only works where supported.. :(
One particular method of ID'ing a 386+ was the mask revision number
found in EDX on a reset. Look for "cpures.asm".
