i'm aware of more than one registered sex offender that is not on any
kind of parole and they can live anywhere they like as long as they do
register...

this is, personally speaking, one of those "it depends" things...
several of the offenders, i spoke of above, were found guilty because
they were right on that cusp of age difference... one had been dating
the same person all thru school but when that person turned 21, they were
suddenly in the wrong... the person they had been dating was only three
years their junior but it didn't matter to the arse of a DA who
persecuted and prosecuted them... that DA was using all the SO cases
they could find to put more feathers in their cap and further their
political asperations...

again, not always... only some sexual offenders are on parole when they
get out... and not all of those who are forced to wear those tracking
devices are on parole, either...
