Williams plans September announcement for Villeneuve's replacement

ZELTWEG, Austria (Jul 23, 1998 - 13:52 EDT) - The Williams Formula One team
said Thursday it would not announce a 1999 replacement for Jacques
Villeneuve until early September.

The new British American Racing team announced earlier in the day that
Villeneuve would drive for the team, established by his manager Craig
Pollock, next year.

Williams thanked Jacques for his contribution to victories in the 1996 and
1997 World Constructors Championship and his own 1997 world drivers title.

It has been widely reported that Villeneuve's teammate Heinz-Harald
Frentzen will not be retained.
