LC> GN> What do you think of Beuchat is it a good brand?
LC>I have a Beuchat VS-10 regulator, and it has been completely
LC>reliable. It has an adjustable second stage that will go from
LC>"stiff" breathing resistance to almost free-flow.
LC>As for their BCD's, I feel they are well made, but don't have
LC>enough lift capacity for cold water where you are in a dry suit
LC>or 7mm wetsuit. I dive with 40 to 45 pounds of weight and
LC>most european-made, jacket style BCD's have bladders
LC>that are inadequate to support that amount of lead
LC>several BCD's including Mares Vector 10, Beuchat Master Lift,
LC>and Zeagle, and finally settled on a SeaPro At-Pac. It is a
LC>weight integrated type, like the Zeagle, but uses a rigid
LC>plastic backplate that holds up to 30# of loose lead shot,
LC>and the bladder has 60+ pounds of lift capacity. A dual-bladder
LC>system can be mounted to increase lift capacity to 120 pounds,
Hi Laurence
How does the Beuchat compare with the U.S. Divers B.C.D.'s do you know
or does anyone? I own a U.S. Divers Alcyone B.C.D. but I had problems
with it in Hawaii, It's wasn't letting out the air. so the current
caught me but I got things back under control. But my second trip to
Hawaii I used a jacket style B.C.D. and did not have any problems.
So I am just curious if the jacket style is better for warm water diving
and if the back mounted bladders like the "Alcyone" are better for the
cold water diving?????
Marianne
I too am from Sacramento, But I haven't had a chance to do any cold
water diving yet. where do you go diving??? Just curious.
