Fauconnier replaced at Peugeot

(10-Jul-98) - Pierre-Michel Fauconnier has been replaced by Corrado Provera
as new head of Peugeot Sport. Fauconnier has been promoted to a new
position in South America. His boss Jean-Martin Folz insisting that this is
a promotion rather than a move sideways.

Fauconnier took over from Jean-Pierre Jabouille at a time when Peugeot was
supplying Jordan and since then, has moved into a less successful
relationship with the Prost team while also committing the company to a
World Rally Championship programme with the 206.

Provera has trained as a lawyer and worked as a journalist. Having worked
for Chrysler and Talbot, he is now a board member of Peugeot.
