Horrors upon horrors, when I gathered up today's snailmail I received a 
notice from McCall's Needlework & Crafts informing me that they are 
discontinuing publication of the magazine.  No reason was given for the 
cancellation of the mag, but I was offered issues of Just Cross Stitch 
magazine to cover the 6 issues of my subscription.  I called their 1-800 #
(1-800-289-3553) to see why they're cancelling such a wonderful magazine,
and got a general "I don't really know why...." answer which I was not very
happy with and I told them how much I loved and had supported the magazine 
since the early '80s and that I was not at all happy with the cancellation.
I think that anyone who loves McCall's should call and write complaining 
about the cancellation.  Also does anyone have any ideas on which cross 
stitch or general crafting magazines are the best?  I've got to find some
kind of replacement for the magazine if there is such a thing.......
